Philodendron
The Philodendron is one of the most common plants. Even so it is still one of my favorite house plants. I love the vine look so I have allot of different plants that vine out.
The philodendron is a very low maintenance plant. You don’t have to do much to it to get it to grow good and look beautiful.

Propagating Houseplants-Part 3-Tip Cuttings
Using Tip Cuttings From Stems
If you have ivies, impatiens, tradescantias or other plants like these, they are really easy to root. Make sure your cutting is three to four inches long and strip the lower leaves. Aloe Plant

Aloe plants are a great addition to you houseplant collection because it can be good for more than just to look at. I learned this at a very young age because my grandma kept one in the kitchen for burns. You just crack one open and rub it on your burn because aloe is a natural medicine. So when I first started collecting house plants that is the first plant I bought.
Aloe is a very easy plant to find. Any where they sell plants they more than likely have an aloe plant. This plant can be grown indoor or out but if it gets below 40 degrees in your area its probably a good idea to grow it inside. Orchids

I have had a few orchids but for the most part they take a lot of care and I like plants that don’t require much care because I spend a lot of time away from home.
Orchids can be grown indoors with the proper care. You can put it in your window sill so that it can get enough light. If you don’t have a window sill you can use artificial lighting and it should work fine. Drainage is another important issue with orchids. To solve this problem put gravel in the tray that goes under your pot. You should mist your plant frequently to produce humidity.
Orchids can be grown in clay or plastic pots, put make sure you put a good layer of rock or gravel at the bottom for good soil drainage. If you buy a special orchid pot you don’t need to use rock at the bottom. Read the rest of this entry »
