If you have ever been in a store that sells plants than you have seen lucky bamboo, it is a popular plant. I think every plant collector has had one of these at one time or another.

These plants are water garden plants. It is a tradition in Asia that these plants are lucky and that they bring fortune to your home.people that practice feng shui love these plants because they put off positive energy, some call this chi.

These plants are pretty easy to take care of but you need to know the do’s and don’ts.First off, all these plants require you to do to them is water them. I think one of the most important things with this plant is that you should use bottled water, because of the chemicals in tap water. I found this out the hard way, because I’ve had a few die on me. The peace lily is one of my favorite house plants. They are pretty much dummy proof. This plant can go for days with no water. My hasband moved mine into our back room and I forgot about it. When I finally seen it, it looked dead but I watered it anyway. Abvout 3 hours later it looked great again. So this plant can withstand almost anything.

These plants are very pretty and they sprout white flowers. these come in different sizes. I have a smaller one but I think I would like a bigger one after my som gets old enouph to not touch them any more. He likes to dig out the dirt to play with his cars. Read the rest of this entry »

The rubber plant would make a great plant for your collection because it is easy to take care of and it can get fairly big so it can take up space in that empty corner. These plants can live a long time with the proper care. These plant have green shiny foliage that is easy to clean, all you have to do is take a damp cloth and wipe the leaves.

These plants prefur warm temperatures but they can handle variety of different conditions. They tend to do best in temperatures between 65 to 80 degrees.

You should not over water this plant because of root rot. You should put it in a container that has sufficient drainage.

The Chinese evergreen is a popular houseplant because of the beautiful foliage and this is an easy plant to take care of. Allot of shopping malls and stores use this because it don’t take much to take care of one.

These plants can with stand most lighting conditions and they are very resistant to pests. They cant tolerate temperatures lower than 10 degrees. So that’s why they make good indoor houseplants. Read the rest of this entry »

The Philodendron is one of the most common plants. Even so it is still one of my favorite house plants. I love the vine look so I have allot of different plants that vine out.

The philodendron is a very low maintenance plant. You don’t have to do much to it to get it to grow good and look beautiful.

Aloe plants are a great addition to you houseplant collection because it can be good for more than just to look at. I learned this at a very young age because my grandma kept one in the kitchen for burns. You just crack one open and rub it on your burn because aloe is a natural medicine. So when I first started collecting house plants that is the first plant I bought.

Aloe is a very easy plant to find. Any where they sell plants they more than likely have an aloe plant. This plant can be grown indoor or out but if it gets below 40 degrees in your area its probably a good idea to grow it inside.
